Jacqueline Fernandez grew up in Bahrain, Manama. She is Sri Lankan and comes from an ethnically diverse background. Jacqueline's father Elroy is from Sri Lanka (Catholic Sinhalese) and her mother, Kim, a Malaysian. Jacqueline has two older brothers as well as a younger sister. Her family was born and raised in Bahrain. Her parents been to the country in the 1980s as a result of the turmoil that occurred in Sri Lanka. In Australia she was enrolled in Media and Communications at University of Sydney after graduating from Bahrain. Having a passion for the world of languages and cultures, she joined the Berlitz school of languages, where she learned to speak Spanish and improve her French as well as Arabic. Miss Sri Lanka 2006 won Miss Universe 2006 competition in March 2006 and she competed as Miss Universe 2006 also. In 2006 she won the Miss Sri Lanka title. Then, she stepped into the world of television, hosting a program on Sri Lankan companies called Lanka Business Report. Padukone is the child of and badminton world champion Prakash Padukone. Padukone grew her life in Bangalore, but she was born in Copenhagen. While still a teenager, Padukone was a participant in numerous national badminton tournaments. But she gave up playing when she made the decision to be a professional fashion model. Padukone is a native of Mangalore, Indian. Her mother tongue Konkani is where she comes from. Padukone is a village located within the Kundapura Taluk located in Udupi in Karnataka State, India, is where her ancestry comes from. His father, Prakash Padukone, is an ex-badminton player with international repute, and her mother is a travel consultant.
